It gives us great pleasure to announce Dillon Engelmann as the North Warren Rotary Student of the Month for April! Dillon is the son Fred and Lynn Engelmann of Chestertown.
Those who know Dillon are familiar with an easy going and interesting young man who is well rounded in his pursuits, both academic and extracurricular in nature. Dillon is extremely considerate of those in his company and treats others with the utmost respect. He is also known as one who is friendly and honest. He is also engaging and approachable to others, and is extremely honest in his dealings with them. Dillon lives his life by his personal approach which in his own words is to "Say what you mean and mean what you say".
This student is well-rounded in his pursuit of activities including academics and extracurricular activities. Dillon has provided an integral role on the varsity soccer and tennis teams, and has been a member of the Rube Goldberg team, the AV club, outing club and has worked as an M.C. at community events. He is also a member of the College level class studying the OAS better known in the school as MOAS. In his free time, he enjoys rock climbing, skiing, hiking and cave exploration. He has also worked as a counselor / instructor at a summer camp and as a ski instructor. Dillon also has experience working with his family's internet business performing technical support and physical installations.
In terms of academics, Dillon has most enjoyed his courses in architectural drawing and in Design, Drawing and Production. These courses have helped to develop Dillon's interest in architecture and engineering pursuits. These interests will no doubt be a benefit to Dillon as he studies in the Computer Aided Design and Drafting program at SUNY Morrisville this fall. No doubt, Dillon's enthusiasm and passion will enable him to make a significant contribution to his field.
Dillon is an outstanding example of the Class of 2011 and provides an excellent role model for those he interacts with. We are extremely proud to have Dillon represent his class and the North Warren community as a whole.
